I forgot Futurama is still alive.  XD
It's nothing too exciting really, hopefully 8-B (8-A was shown earlier this year) will be more exciting.

Fun little thing I've noticed:

I find it funny (and a little sad) how the mere mentioning of the title "My Little Pony" can make a lot of people snap to either the brony extreme or the anti-brony extreme in an instant.  This thread has been open less than twenty-four hours, and I'm already seeing some people questioning its existence with pretty much no reasoning whatsoever.  It's just a topic like anything else.  There are plenty of equally silly things discussed around the forum that aren't My Little Pony, so why bother forming such a strong opinion about this thread specifically?  I mean, that's mostly what caused the whole problem last time was people whining when there wasn't even an issue, thus making it become an issue.  Why can't more people just be relatively neutral about the subject instead of feeling the need to snap to an extreme?

I'm not complaining or anything, I just thought it was an interesting thing to note.

As I feel I'm being mentioned here, I'll drop in my opinion.

At first (fully my own opinion, haha) the show is pure crap and again, IMO, it's intended for kids and while not having seen (and never will/wanting to) any episodes or whatever of it, I really think it's not good for this to have shining on the list as "Recent Discussed Topics". Think <---> In a TimeSplitters forum, although not super active anymore yadda yadda, guests and people who browse here will see that and form their opinion either immediately, like INH mentioned, or just not want to visit the site at all anymore. I've seen my fair share of activity decreasing/drama wars on other websites where I used to be either a moderator or administrator (for the ones knowing it, allisbrawldotcom. It's simply... well most people would know what I mean, but it's just not appropriate, in my honest opinion.

Now putting that aside, I think it's the idea that everyone on this forum can talk about whatever topic they want (unless it's VERY bad) and this is, as stated above, just another social topic where people discuss something. I 100% agree with this and in no way do I want you guys to stop that or anything. I'm just saying, having this NOT featured would be a good start so the actual TS-related stuff gets the chance to shine and the chance to being discussed (again).

I hope you guys understand what I mean.

Yes, your mentioning of it in the What Can We Do Better? thread was what prompted me to post this.  Though in all fairness, you were lead on to mention it by the name drop in the first post of that thread.

At first (fully my own opinion, haha) the show is pure crap and again, IMO, it's intended for kids and while not having seen (and never will/wanting to) any episodes or whatever of it, I really think it's not good for this to have shining on the list as "Recent Discussed Topics".

That right there is the problem.  When people see the show title, they immediately think of this:

The insufferable, unbearable, unmentionable horrid, creepy-as-they-come My Little Pony that we had to deal with growing up.  The thing is, that's not what My Little Pony is anymore.  Yes, it's still a show geared for little girls, but it's been turned into a proper kids' show.  One that adults can watch with their kids without cringing the entire time.  I personally, by no means would consider the new show to be "great" as some people call it, but the key thing about it is that it's very tolerable.

While I do think the adult/male fanbase of this show is stupidly large and the series is highly overrated, I feel like the fact that the brony fandom even exists at all should be a testament to just how different this new show is from old incarnations of My Little Pony and should help people who aren't familiar with it understand that it's not that bad.

I really think it's not good for this to have shining on the list as "Recent Discussed Topics". Think <---> In a TimeSplitters forum, although not super active anymore yadda yadda, guests and people who browse here will see that and form their opinion either immediately, like INH mentioned, or just not want to visit the site at all anymore.

While I think this is true (since I just said it and all), I don't think it goes to the extreme that you just mentioned.  I think some people will hate the thread without cause, but almost none will hate the entire forum and leave just because of one thread.

When I saw this thread was unlocked this morning, I almost suggested renaming the topic something more ambiguous just to quell some of the random hate this thread gets when people spot the title.

I hope you guys understand what I mean.

Indeed.  I understand your concerns and by no means hold your opinion against you.

Before I wrap this up, though, I would like to do one thing if you'll have it.  I'd like to send you a link to one episode of my choice and have you watch it.  (This is always a risky move, because I find it inherently cruel to turn people into bronies.  Not because there's anything wrong with bronies, but because they then have to deal with the social stigma of being a brony.)  If the show is indeed terrible as you believe, then you are at no risk of being bronified yourself, meaning you have nothing to lose by watching it, right?  Like I said, I don't like making people bronies; I just like making people understand bronies.

I sometimes feel like i'm the only one who enjoys the music of the show.

You are.  It's terrible...except the Flim Flam song.

The Flim Flam song was much funnier after Seeing PONIES: The Anthology 2.
"That horse, that horse!"

Send him Party of One!

As much as I believe you and how much you guys love it =P, I'd rather not watch it. Besides, I may not have been 100% true the last time since I THINK (not sure) that this "show" is aired in my country and I had the bad luck of falling asleep with my tv on, resulting in waking up with (probably) this show on the air... And I remember that rainbow "thing" from the internet so that must've been it... =P

Anyway, I was most certainly not impressed by it and most certainly did not like it xD

If this really is a problem and you really insist then "Maybe, just maybe", yet the important thing I would lose is my oh so super valuable free time all wasted... haha!

This thing?

It's not a problem by any means, but I really do insist.  It's only twenty minutes of your time, and if you really truly hate what I show you, then maybe I can send you a cookie or something to make up for it.

It was that "thing" indeed. I'm quite shocked, haha.

Anyway, free cookies, what's not to like eh?
I'll take your word for it, but, I'll watch it when I feel like it if that's o.k with you. I can also already say I most likely will absolutely dislike it! =)

Fine with me.  Only conditions are that you can't quit the episode before it's over, and you can't skip parts to make it end faster...except for the theme song; for the love of God skip the theme song!  The episode you'll be watching is Party of One.

I can also already say I most likely will absolutely dislike it! =)

That's absolutely fine.

I haven't really caught up with the series, still in Season 1 but I haven't watched it because I have too much to do.
My name was Cheese, but then all the letters in the name disappeared in a magic act gone wrong.

It's okay, Season 2, while good doesn't have episodes as funny as Party of One, and the Stare Master. Or Dragonshy. The only one that really stands out is the Applecider one, and maybe Hurricaine fluttershy.

And you had the audacity to try to call yourself one of the leaders in the Pony Resistance?!  For shame!  I may not be a brony, but at least I've seen enough episodes to be qualified to command a brony army.

I believe you're forgetting one very important episode: The Return of Harmony.  It trumps every other episode in the series with ease.  It's one of the few episodes (possibly the only episode) that instead of making me think, "Hey, this episode is really good compared to other episodes of MLP," makes me think, "Hey, this episode is really good compared to most cartoons in general."
