I would never buy ts4 if it were to be f2p.
You're right, you wouldn't buy if it's F2P, no one would, 'cause it's free.

Yeah yeah, very funny. You know what I meant; I would never play it and buy items for real cash.

YOU don't have to, but other people can, as long as guns aren't being sold, or something that gives other players the upper hand, I'm totally fine with it.

OK, people people, READ this. What if the game comes with stock characters that have each stat advantage covered, like monkey who has speed, stone gollum who has stamina etc. then the rest is totally unlockable for free EXCEPT additional characters, which have to be unlocked THEN purchased for less than, say, a song off itunes? Also, try and make it seem as though you've acknowledged other users posts.

Why should I have to unlock something I'm going to pay for though?

The stats thing is a whole other debatable issue, I wish they'd just do away with it all together.

Normally in a free to play game, you are given the choice to either buy a character outright, or play an exorbitant amount of time (say 24 hours) to unlock them. What on Earth would be the point of making them unlockable to purchase?

Precisely. I certainly hope Crytek aren't planning to run a scam like that.

TS4, if it comes out, should be a fully priced game without any strings attached. No doubt we'd be stuck with DLC instead in that case, but that seems to me to be the lesser evil of the two.
Welcome to TimeSplitters Portal: drama is the name of the game!

Guns will be sold, but it will be like TF2 where you can just put in the effort to craft it.
There will be at least 50 characters from the start but I have no idea how you'd unlock or make something like that in game, maybe a couple new characters with new stages and certain criteria reach before you unlock them...
F2P TF4 will also be downloadable on PSN like how DC Universe is.
There will also be granny Cortez and jokes about temporal incest, also, a Super Monkey.
Character stats shall stay but the ability to make a game without them shall stay.
There shall be events and game modes only for subscribers but you can play in the game modes if invited.
There shall be a text speak character, it is unknown if he shall be invulnerable to flames.
Maybe buyable clothes to one up Valve and its addiction to hats.
There may be buyable colors to customize your characters further.
Custom stages, if still in, shall be subies only, unless you own your own server.

Oh and Lilfurman, there is no overpowered weapon in TF2, just annoying characters and crappy teammates.

Basically tf2's f2p. You can get anything if you put the effort into it. Or buy it if you want it fast.
that's the price that you pay when you pay no price.
