Transformers suffers badly from Michael Bay Explosion Syndrome. Apparently he thinks them a compelling storytelling device.

Toy Story 3 was obviously marketed right to many of the people around my age and their parents. We were about Andy's age when Toy Story 1 rolled around and Toy Story 3 made it feel like he grew up right along with us as he headed off to college. It definitely plays on the nostalgia factor, but I don't think that's a bad thing. Disney knows their demographic well.

I'm of the opinion that toy Story may be the perfect trilogy of movies, in that there is no weak link. The transformers movies, on the other hand, are perfectly awful.

Toy Story 3, despite it being a rehash of many elements from the first Brave Little Toaster movie (Original members of Pixar worked on it.)

Original owner heading off to college.
They end up in a junkyard on a conveyor belt, about to be destroyed.

Toy Story 3 defeats Transformers in a strong 11-2 win.

It's another Drifting VS Tuppence clash as the penultimate match is between Dr. Strangelove and The Spy Who Loved Me.

Dr. Strangelove (Drifting)
An insane general starts a process to nuclear holocaust that a war room of politicians and generals frantically try to stop.

I wonder how many here have actually seen Dr. Strangelove. For those who haven't, I highly recommend it if you're a fan of black comedy. The Cold War setting may not be culturally relevant anymore, but now that we have the advantage of foresight it makes the film that much more hilarious.

Dr. Strangelove defeats The Spy Who Loved Me in a low scoring 3-0 victory.

The final match of round 1 is between Jurassic Park and Office Space.

Wow, this one is pretty one sided. Jurassic Park it is.
My name was Cheese, but then all the letters in the name disappeared in a magic act gone wrong.

This has probably been the hardest one thus far for me. I think I'm going to sleep on it.

Damnit! I missed my second movie's vote. I suppose that now Drifting has defeated me twice, I probably should give up and watch the other tournaments instead. Anyway, I voted Jurassic Park, for a truly classic film :tarryhipper:

As much as I would love to just jump in and vote for Jurassic Park (my nomination), I haven't seen Office Space so I can't really be fair.

Haven't seen Aliens either. I am really bad at watching movies, not even seen Pulp Fiction.

I especially like the 'Dead Zombie Storage' gag in it.

Voted Office Space in this round. Sorry, Jurassic Park.
I think this would be fun if every body was a monkey and have your neck snapped.

Jurassic Park beats Office Space 7-4 and advances to round 2.

As Aliens and Pirates drew 4-4, this will be a replay with a poll open for one day.

Aliens (Greater MK Monkey)
The planet from Alien has been colonized, but contact is lost. This time, the rescue team has impressive firepower, but will it be enough?
