I'm fairly certain we did report on it, because I can remember some sections of the article. They were talking about the time at FRD, and not Crytek UK though. So it shouldn't worry anybody that they've 'cancelled' it.

Plus, we've got the rumour of an upcoming announcement that will make audiences 'go bananas'.

If that is a quote from the text, then that could be a reference to the monkey's in Timesplitters.  It is either that or they are going to make a game about most of the Meme's out there with a boss fight with the Peanut Butter Jelly banana.   Which ever one sounds more logical.

Yes. It was a simple and effective joke.

It was a quote from the editor of Eurogamer when he posted it on Twitter. It may have nothing to do with Crytek, but he just said that there was going to be an announcement that would make audiences go bananas.
