This is a complete shot in the dark, but does anyon know what equipment I would need to listen to a police scanner? Earlier today, I was listening to my favorite Hip-Hop record of all time, Liquid Swords, and at one point during the song "Investigative Reports", The GZA said "Calling all cars, calling all cars", which somehow got me really interested in the idea. However, after consulting a website, I dismayed to find that my radio can not tune to the correct frequency, which according to a helpful website by the name of radioreference.com, is in the 460 range. The site also mentioned that officers use Razer Sabre to communicate, which leads me believe I would need a CB radio, which is concerning to me in it of itself considering that I am a few miles out of the city, and I seem to remember CB having a small range.

chris: You can use any normal radio, as long as you can alter its frequency to the same range the cops use. (Standard musical radios do not do this, and are limited to the bands assigned for public radio)
