What is the proper method for repairing a record? At a secondhand store yesterday, I was delighted to find a copy of In the Court of the Crimson King for a very reasonable price, but upon playing, I discovered that during one I the breakdowns in the first track, the record skips further into the song without warning. How can this be fixed? Additionally, how best can the crackle and pop be mitigated? I usually don't mind, especially if it's an old record like this one, but it gets pretty annoying on "Moonchild".

Because it's a fake punishment for a fake misbehavior.  He's saving his real punishment avatar for when someone genuinely acts up.

I just accidentally cut open the skin below my eye with a pair of nail clippers.  It's quite painful.  Nail clippers are surprisingly ineffective when it comes to cutting flesh, though...
