The official TimeSplitters 4 wishlist - One post each
DrkSnpr14:
Ok ladies and gentleman, here is how this will work.
Everyone gets ONE POST. We ask that you please DO NOT REPLY to any posts here to streamline the information for easy viewing. You post all of your ideas and wishes for what you want to see happen in TimeSplitters 4. When posting your ideas, add an explanation for them (unless it's self explanatory) If you want to add anything, you edit your post. Any posts replying to others will be deleted. The goal is to keep a very clean, accessible list of ideas in case any Crytek UK employees want to look at them ;)
Also, if someone else has already posted it, try not to repeat their ideas. Once again, just makes reading it all much more manageable
My Ideas
Create a Character - Doesn't have to be anything fancy. Even just allowing us to re-arrange parts of existing characters. I'm not looking for something as advanced as say the wrestling games, just something I can customize.
Make mapmaker saves exportable - Think how awesome it would be to be able to pop in a USB flashdrive to your PS3, copy it there, and just upload it to the net? Instead of our current methods of recreating images of maps and downloading. The sharing sytem in Future Perfect was nice, until EA shut down online
BIGGER EXPLOSIONS - I want things to go BOOM, not just bang. I want to send corpses flying :mua:
Casual online matches - The option to play unranked matches is always nice if you just want a casual game session
Cat Racing must die - I hate the cat :sigh: Why not add monster trucks, or mini tanks instead. Make a little battle out of it with mini tanks. Something to break up the action
Passengers can shoot - Assuming there's vehicles, it would be nice if the passenger could rip into people with a minigun or throw bricks. I can see having fun with 3 others driving and tossing bricks. The jeep in FP Siberia was never touched, because you just came an easy moving target
My Wishlist
Bring back flametag - Hands down, one of the most brilliant things FRD has come up with. Myself and a lot of others where really sad it wasn't in Future Perfect.
Bring Back Planet X from TS1 - :whip:
Full match option customization - Playing back to TS1, you can change variables like kills for game matches down to 1, instead of the 5 multiples.
Rag Doll Deaths - To go with the bigger explosions I want :muahaha:
DuckManDrake:
My wishlist
More characters from ts1
i realy want more char from ts1! changed like lt.malone and teeth
Ragdoll
I WANT IT SO BAD!
More maps
i want maps from ts1 and ts2

Ideas:
Fully Oudoor Mapmaker - I'm a mapmaker, please finally give me the ultimate dream to make a fully outdoor map with trees, rocks, etc.. set in Caynons, on an Asteroid (like Ice Station), near rivers, etc..
A tile option menu - Have a menu of options for tiles, options could include: whether it's stackable or not, manipulation (maybe), convert to deathtile, or add a trap door.
A Pacific Island map - We have Vietnam, why not make a WWII map with WWII weapon set. A Pacific Island would be a great idea be cause Normandy is too overused for WWII. Of course, inland European battlefields might also be a great canidate, but we do need a WWII-themed level.
A Skyscraper map - This game does really great in close quarters combat, why not have a map situated on the upper stories of a skyscaper. It'll be crazy and insane with Elevator Action, the Window Cleaner things that go up the side of the building, and glass to hurt people.
How about Locations (in Assault) that take a certain amount of time to control. Location Objectives are often not very challenging because you just walk through them and.. that's done. No, I want them to be able to have a minimum time-limit to control them, just like the switches.
Have killable bot characters in Assault (Assault) - I know, I know, you'll first think we already have them, no we don't. I'm talking like, Dozer in Mars Prison, not some random bot you're playing against or with.
Allies and Neutral Bots in Story Mode - 'nough said.
Wishlist:
Bring Back Ice Station
Bring back Flametag, Regeneration, and Leech.
Bring Back the ability to make a Vampire Deathmatch
Bring Back Escort and 4-Way CTB - I never saw them, but I want to. The later might be a great idea for online. :mua:
Bring Back the cars and add some more.. for mapmaker
Bring Back the Garret Revolver - It owns the Revolver.
Bring Back Dual Shotguns.
Bring Back the Soviet S47, TS2 Plasma Autorifle, TS2 Rocket Launcher, and the Lazergun.
Bring Back all tiles from the series and the grid thing, on individual tiles - I heard that the later thing was on TS1, bring it back, so, I can place Turrets near windows WITHOUT the Turret being useless.
ElitePhoenix:
Ideas:
The ''Drop Bag'' button.
-You can switch to double guns
-You can hide the bag
-You can 'give' it to another player
Water and elevators in mapmaker.
Diamond award. Just an award which is very very hard to get, impossible for average players...
Team Elimination
Story Mode. Please let the timer reset when you restart the level. The TSFP Story timer was very annoying for speedrunners!
Water and floating boats/rafts in mapmaker.
Wishlist:
Bring back Compound, Subway, Mars Prison, Venice and Disco.
Bring back the Soviet from TS2
Bring back the Rocket Launcher from TS2
Bring back 4-way-CTB.
More Assault maps.
More Arcade Leagues/Challenges

MAPS
-A trench level, like WW1. There would be two main trenches running parallel to each other in some big swampy, foggy, rainy field. They would each have nooks and crannies and various underground compartments for weapons storage. In between the trenches, there would be no-man's land, and there will be constant bombing and strafing from old-timey airplanes soaring overhead. The trenches would be deep enough so, when an average-sized character ducks, his/her head is totally concealed. Stand up, and you can shoot across the field, or maybe get shot yourself. What about giant characters or very short ones, you say? Giant characters would be a disadvantage on all sides, while although short characters couldn't get shot (at least from across the field), they couldn't shoot back (across the field). Also there would be standing water and puddles... just for effect! :wheee:
-Something maybe like a post-apocalyptic city block. Four or so multi-storied buildings burning (but enter-able, nonetheless), wrecked cars blocking roads, and newspapers strewn everywhere with the last headline anyone will see (Zombie attack?)... (or even cooler, there would be wind and the newspapers would float around!). There would be higher-up windows for sniping posts, and the close confines of the littered streets and building stairs/rooms would make for the great frantic action the TimeSplitters series is known for! In some areas, smoke may reduce vision.
-A Forest level. A large hilly level with thick vegetation, trees and a river, and maybe in the center, a giant tree with a room inside. Maybe there would be abandoned hillbilly shacks strewn throughout the forest as well, to give hiding spots and weapon pickups.
-A Desert! Sandstorms, cacti, dunes, and a desert bandit camp. It looks small on the top, but what's the bandit camp guarding? Nothing but the long-hidden entrance to the tomb of Egyptian Royalty! Huge rooms, piles of loot, and an alarming number of traps and dead ends...
-An old Japanese-style mountain monastery, with a flat open area overlooking beautiful and vast snowy scenery. There would be buildings around the other three sides of the flat open area with halls, rooms, and the back door leads to a narrow path that goes even higher up into the mountains.
-A near-futuristic underwater research facility. Big bubble domes give the player a fantastic view of an underwater world, complete with fish and other life. If the dome is shot, water leaks down (though not permanently or fatally, similar to the steam on Zeppelin). Labyrinths of metal-grated halls and huge picturesque rooms, and maybe even an entrance to a small underwater cavern!
-A quiet wheat farm just before harvest, with fantastic mountain scenery in the background, a big red barn, a large and tall field of golden grain, and a small cozy house. There would even be an old pickup truck to drive around the property... with a homemade harpoon gun mounted in the back?! Well, that was the only way the poor doomed family could protect themselves from the alien invasion. The level includes crop circles and gory dead aliens in the barn, not to mention the occasional UFO flying by and strafing the property with laser beams!
-Hell. A massive underground level full of terrifying music and other assorted background noises to make the blood run cold. Flaming waterfalls, lava pits, and various corpses all lay around in various stages of decomposition. Rock formations provide cover from other players, armed to the teeth with a shocking new weapon.... (see the weapons section for details)
-A mountaintop area during the fall season of the year 1984, located in an old abandoned mining area in the Northwestern U.S. There is a labyrinth of mine tunnels beneath the surface, and it's a good mix of open area, close-combat spots, and inspiring scenery. An old logging truck is available to drive, parked on a dirt road that encircles the arena.
-A quiet American suburb with ubiquitous and repetitive housing, perfectly manicured lawns, and blue cloudless skies. In other wordes, stereotypically boring. A handful of houses would be unlocked (in the sense of doors, not video game unlockables) and a player would be able to go in to them. A few garages would be open as well, allowing multiple cars at once and an all-out vehicular combat level.
-In the far-future, a cave planet has been discovered. Most of this level is underground in dark caves, with sparse yet bizarre plant life somehow surviving in the winding tunnels. There is a way up to the surface, though, which has constant strong winds and blowing dust, like Mars.
-A battlefield of ancient Sparta, with high cliffs, clashing waves, distant mountains, and forebodingly dark clouds. Don't forget the Hell's Gate... or Pass... eh, just watch 300. You'll see what I mean. That would make a noice! arcade level.
-A Zoo. There would be a bunch of different little environments with caged animals (behind bulletproof glass, of course). Kill your pals in the high-ceiling Aviary Room, or tempt fate in the pitch black Nocturnal Nook. Or head over to the Arctic Adventure and beat your friends down with a brick, in full view of penguins and polar bears. Of course, you could stop by a gift kiosk... after all, those are great to hide inside of!
-An old abandoned asylum, in the middle of a thick and impenetrable pine forest. Vines are growing up and covering the walls, and dim light is shining through the broken windows into the hazy environment. There's nothing particularly out of order at first glance, but...!!! What was that? OH NOO!!! Hah. Gotcha. Really though, it's a pretty creepy level, even if there isn't any overt signs of REDRUM or scary little kids. Maybe this level could have another special trait... See the miscellaneous section to see what I mean! (1)
-The "final" level. In story mode, it could be used as the end-all boss battle, but it would also be available in arcade mode, probably needing to be unlocked by beating the story mode or something. This level is basically what happens when you accidentally break the universe. The level itself is a basic field on Earth, but the sky has torn open and all sorts of crazy things are going on. Lava is shooting out of the ground, and the music is frantic.
-Bring back Training Ground, and keep it the same. EXCEPT, that little cliff that has an ammo box on it? The one near the waterfall? That's expanded to a huge network of natural catwalks and caverns that meander throughout all of the cliffs in the level, with little "window" holes to peep out, and shorcuts from one base to another! It would allow the level to stay roughly the same size, but almost double the possibilities of the already versatile level! Also, bring back turret guns
-A level based on Storm of the Century, by Stephen King. The setting is a small New England town on an off-shore island which has been cut off from the mainland by a vicious winter storm. Iced streets, cars frozen to the ground, howling winds, and locked doors of all residencies. All but one... the mansion of the first victim. Blinding snowstorms and parked-vehicle-packed streets make for one mean close-combat level.
-A Warehouse. Think the big room in Hangar, with many more places to hide. Open storage containers, climbable ladders, and high-up control rooms with a view. And, of course, a walk-in trash compactor/incinerator with a rather fun-to-pull looking lever in the control room as well...
-Post-post-post-post apocalypse level. This would be at the point that almost all memories of humanity have vanished from the face of the earth. This large level would include a picturesque mountain scene, a crystal lake, and a pine forest sloping up the side of the hills, all colored by sunset. Mysterious rust and moss-covered monoliths would be sprouting all over the ground, and underground tunnels would lead to the "ancient" ruins of somewhere once known as "New York City."
-A level in a large crater of the barren moon surface. Not much else to say.
-An Arctic level. There are high winds and high stakes, as one wrong move plunges you into ice water! Glaciers and floating ice make up the platforms in a desolate arctic bay carved out by nature. A cliff of ice with a small cave inside can provide temporary shelter from the elements.
-A Jonah-based level, on the inside of a really really big fish.
I SWEAR IT, I'M NOT DEAD! (October 11, 2008)
-Bring in Stack from Goldeneye, if you guys still have the rights to it. I can't begin to say how many hours I've "wasted" playing with my friends on that level :D

WEAPONS
-A parody of the gun that made Gears of War so famous: Some sort of assault rifle with some sort of a chainsaw on it. :mua:
-To continue with the WW1 theme from that first level in my post, a rifle like a Lee-Enfield or something. There's no scope (but maybe that would be toggle-able), and it's bolt action. However, the character would go for the bolt and chamber a new round quite quickly, like the British soldiers were famous for. This gives the weapon reasonable speed, power, and reach.
-Some kind of blade. Sword, axe, scythe (which would be awesome, by the way), anything sharper than a baseball bat (not saying that wasn't fun ^_^).
-A serious shotgun. It's huge, pump-action, has a barrel shroud, and detail reveals scratches and scrapes and scorch marks on it. It could be called like "The Master's Gun" or something, but it would be LOUD and powerful. An ultimate battle-scarred weapon of power and badassity.
-The Hellgun is a giant and supernatural creation, patched together with rusty metal, barbed wire, and something that looks conspicously like human flesh... It fires a beam of immense proportions, which lasts about ten seconds. It instantly kills anything it touches, but the user's health drains slightly with each fatality they achieve. It can only hold a single shot.
-A BB Gun. Short range, next to no power, slow to shoot, but hey! It's better than a fire extinguisher! At least you can smack folks with it. It holds unlimited shots, too. Just since you won't really be able to kill anyone with it anyway... (One-shot kill matches, anyone? :mua:)
-A Grapple Launcher that would allow one to hook onto any surface, just like Spiderman. They'd just stick there, but the toggle option is to cut the cord. It would only hold three shots at the maximum. If someone is shot with it, they'd be pulled towards the firer, who could then use this weapon to smack them in the head or something. An unlockable cheat would allow this to have infinite ammunition, and you could probably have a ton of fun in a MapMaker level specifically designed for this!
-Keep in the current flamethrower (which has seen action in previous TS games), but add both one from the past, and one from the future. The one from the past would spray jellied gas, like real old-timey ones, and would only spray for a few seconds but have a lot of distance. The future one would be far-future, and have technology for both a stream of flame, but have the toggle option give it the ability to shoot balls of fire like bullets.
-Bring back the crossbow, or better yet, bring it back, and add a current-day, high-powered, scoped crossbow as well!
-A Dragonov Rifle. Basically an AK-47 without full-auto capabilities, a smaller clip, and a scope. That would be pretty cool.
-Different types of shotgun shells. They could be placed in MapMaker and may be in story, but I'm not sure exactly how they'd fit in in regular arcade. They could be shot out of any shotgun, and varieties include rock salt (low damage), glass (medium damage), flechettes (high damage), and a flamethrowing function!
-A Desert Eagle handgun. 'Nuff said. Call it the Sahara Hawk for copyright reasons :mua:
-A futuristic, handheld (although rather large) Flak Cannon. It shoots shrapnel and plasma particles in a flurry of destruction, and although the range is limited, the damage potential is through the roof!
-A black powder weapon. Slow to reload and inaccurate, but it sure makes a lot of smoke!
-The .577 Tyrannosaur hunting rifle of YouTube fame. Basically a one-hit kill weapon that also partially damages the user.
-Bring back dual sawn-off shotguns.
-If spoofing games is going to be the trend for TS4, why not go really classic and include a gun from Goldeneye? Or, take a Banjo-Kazooie approach and have the ability to wield an egg-spitting bird for a gun!
I SWEAR IT, I'M NOT DEAD! (October 11, 2008)
-How about a new character weakness added to the game? We have fire and electricity, which characters are rated on, but what about a gun that shoots silver bullets? It would be of a regular strength against normal characters, but anything undead takes more damage than normal.
-A mounted cannon that fires massive shells (think the size of the bullet you need to blast through that gate in the Russian level on TS3). It could be put in MapMaker maps, and it would be devastating.

CHARACTERS
-All I ask for here is a bear. A bear with an eyepatch and an old army jacket, and his name is Muck. He hates people and lost his eye while playing with his Rottweiler.
-Let me reiderate the above character idea. Just sayin' and all.
-Muck the one-eyed bear. Read above for more details.

-Hmm... Siberian Special Forces? Or is that copyrighted by somebody else?

MISC.
-Some sort of story mode. Not just a collection of arcade or challenge levels, but... some sort of story. Even if it's random or involves senseless character-body-hopping.
-THIS ONE IS IMPORTANT! I've seen all around that FRD expressed interest in putting TS4 on the Wii. If this happens, please allow players a fully-customizable control scheme. This means, if they want to use the Wiimote/Numchuck to play, great. But the Wii can handle Gamecube controllers, too, and I really would like to see a normal control scheme as an option. Four friends over trying to physically aim on the tiny-split screens is NOT fun, and I thought the TimeSplitters series was about arcade madness with pals. So please, allow us to use a traditional Gamecube controller to play this game on the Wii!
-TimeSplitters for the win! (not a suggestion, but true!)
-More vehicles! Pickup trucks, cars, maybe even something to fly around in! Tanks and things would be awesome, too, even in some arcade levels. Also, the passenger should have a first-person view and be able to fire the gun they happen to be wielding when they get in (they couldn't switch once they sit down). And if they happen to not like the driver... :mua:
-Team Elimination! It would basically be regular Elimination, however, the last person standing would give the win to whichever team they belonged to. Also, your friendly fire settings and team-spawns have effect here, of course.
- (1) Have an arcade level affected by time! Each of these new gen systems have internal clocks, so something could be done with daylight. For instance, play in the aforementioned asylum level during daylight, and it's just just a creepy old building. Try a match in the evening, and things may start getting a bit odd. Play a midnight match, and crap your pants in outright fear, as the paranormal residents are out in full-force! Dawn matches in the level would have a strange sense of relief....
-It's been said, but yeah: We NEED a fully-outdoor MapMaker option (rocks, trees, etc).
-Add an all-guns cheat, infinite ammo, and invincibility. Infinite ammo would be the only one to work in any sort of multiplayer mode, co-op and online included.
I SWEAR IT, I'M NOT DEAD! (October 11, 2008)
-Oh yeah... don't go too far with the spoofing. It's one thing to have a funny game with references to things, but please don't make a "Meet the Spartans" sort of thing, where spoofing is the major point.

Crap. I could make my own game with all this stuff.
