now that I have played TS1, i have voted Escort. As well as Team Deathmatch, CTB (4 bags), Virus, and Elimination.

Well, I picked these five.

Capture the Bag (4 bags) - Despite it being a bit of a foot race, I found this to be very enjoyable because matches can be very tactical, and there's more exploring of the map, whereas in a 2 bag CTB, about 45% or more of the map is never set upon because there really isn't any point. The biggest example in my opinion is Ice Station, where about 75% of the map goes unused because the bases are so close together.

Elimination - I play this more than Deathmatch. I found this to be more fun. Though there isn't really a big difference, I found this one to be more of a adrenaline rush seeing as you have lives. I get kinda paranoid when I only have one life.

Virus - Something that is keeping me from making TS1 my favorite game (other than a few other things) is that this isn't in this. It is introduced in the sequel, and this is the mode where I get the most paranoid and freaked out. Running away from these emotionless players on green fire. It is very challenging and can be quite funny as well.

Escort - Probably the most replayable mode in the first TS game. I was shocked to find that this mode wasn't carried on. It is fun, fast paced, you can use a lot of teamwork and so on. It is pretty hard, but that is what is so great about it, in my opinion. It is challenging as hell, and you have to watch everywhere for a sneaky enemy that will try to snipe the escortee.

Shrink - It's funny. 'Nuff said.

My favourite game mode is virus, but only when it has a proper map created just for it. Or when the AI acts weird in the map. After that are the generic deathmatch, team deathmatch, capture the bag and zones. I really aren't into more unique game modes, aren't it I? :P

Elimination, DM, TDM and Virus. Virus is amazing fun with friends and against bots and friends the other 3 are all amazing to play. Elimination is my overall favourite. I can play that for hours.

I've hardly played most of the mode actually.

I prefer elimination, then DM and TDM (though TDM sucks on developpers maps, you can't play with random spawn points like in TS1, in the end, there is like only 25% of the maps which is used...)

there is more a sense of accomplishment in elimination, since you end up the last man standing.

I tried vampire, but I found that health go down too quickly (but I'm not sure how high the bloodlust was. sure, I can get a lot of kills quickly if everyone stay in the same room all the time, but it's not the case on every maps. and it's just lame when there is only one opponent standing and he is at the other end of the map, you just have no choice but to die. that would probably work better in a regular DM)

I've hardly played bag tag (except on TS1, where I got the world record twice on each bag tag challenge) but that seems pretty good. with the right setting it's fun trying to survive against 10 guys. probably one the best modes.

it makes me think I should maybe try gladiator as well. I think I haven't played it since the last time I failed the world record on zany zeppelin but if it is somewhat like bag tag, it should be good.

I'm not especially fond of virus, but it's good for a change. it seems to be popular amongst less skilled players, maybe because you can get easy kills?

can't say much about shrink, thief and monkey assistants...

it's kind of a pity that they removed regeneration and leech (well, I played leech mostly) they could have kept them, not as game modes, but as options.

there isn't much point in playing CTB against bots unfortunately, but against human players, it's probably one of the best modes.

I've never been into zones. you just keep running from a zone to another, just because your allies bots aren't able to protect them... in another hand, if they could, maybe it would rely too much on camping... though, I suppose it could work well on a linear map.

Would've voted for Knockout and Last Stand if they had been on the list

Instead I voted for Virus, Capture the Bag 4, Elimination, Assault and Bagtag, as they can really get your pulse racing

Assault in TS:FP was my absolute favo(u)rite. I would almost always play on defen(c/s)e. Ranking for me would go:
