I watched Hard Boiled for the first time ever the other day. It's immediately shot up into my top 15 films of all-time. Stupendous, and near-flawless.

I remember really liking the first one when it came out. I love Fishburne and Reeves anyway, but the way they handled the story and the action was just something special. The first game was badass as well.
Wasn't enthralled by the other Matrix films.
